December 2010 in Fes, Morocco

After two flights, the metro, a train, taxi, a ferry, two buses, a petit taxi, we finally made it to a car park near the old medina at 2:30 a.m. Thankfully, Adbul came to meet us although the wait with the dogs, roosters and the two men speaking to us seemed interminable. Our third friend was already asleep at the riad waiting for us.

Fes is a beautiful city, or should I say Fes is made up of beautiful cities. We spent most of our time in the Ancienne Medina but went to the centre ville to see the Palais Royale and to get a feel for the city. I’m not quite sure at what point we saw the nouvelle ville but I’m guessing that we did.
