Experiencing Expo 2010

I had a few hours in Shanghai before my conference started so I went to the Expo. I visited inside of Nepal Pavilion, Vietnam Pavilion, Laos Pavilion, Africa Square, Caribbean Community Pavilion, and the Joint Pavilion of Central and South American Countries. I spent most of the time walking around, experiencing the crowds and watching the buildings. The lines to enter most of the big pavilions were several hours long so I skipped them. I would have liked to visit Japan, China, UK, and Netherlands Pavilion but the lines looked painfully long.

I’m happy that I took some time to visit the Expo but the combination of long lines and large crowds do not appeal to me. I did see some cultural presentations: a steel drum player in the Caribbean Community Pavilion, singing beside the Canada Pavilion and Asia square, and dancing beside Asia square and inside the Vietnam pavilion.
