Today, It’s about Time Affluence

Last updated on October 6, 2020

When I took the Science of Happiness course, I learned many new terms, one of which is time affluence. Time affluence is having the time you want and need to do. In the spirit of time affluence, I’m giving myself extra time to do the things I want to do today. I spent an hour looking for my credit card this morning, only to find it in one of the most obvious places, where I had already looked. That changed the timing of my day.

I’ve just finished work, and I’d ordinarily write for at least an hour right now. At the moment, that’s not energizing me. So I’m reclaiming that time to do something else. Perhaps I am driven by being in the middle of reading In the Flo, which talks about how women’s energies follow a 28 day cycle, the infradian rhythm, rather than the 24 hour circadian rhythm.

Could you claim even 10 minutes of your time back today from something that doesn’t energize you? What will you do with your time affluence? I’m off to read a chapter of What Alice Forgot.
